Article: Children bring laughter on the TV screen... but they don't have the protection they need
Source: No Cut News via Nate
Article that looks at the rise in popularity of children on variety shows and dramas, especially with the recent success of 'Where Are You Going, Dad?'
Child actress Park Min Ha who's been in several variety shows as well as 'Yawang' was revealed to have an anti-cafe full of swears and criticisms. Searching her name will bring up 'ugly' as a related search word.
The industry has not set up enough laws to protect these children despite more and more shows wanting to use them. Children must still miss school to keep up with filming schedules, putting them behind in class.
Recently, the industry took a step by implementing a support system for child actors exposed to violent scenes/characters.
1. [+91, -4] What in the world is that anti cafe about... Did adult people seriously create an internet cafe to hate on that small child? This seriously gives me goose bumps... holy crap..
2. [+79, -3] How could people even think of doing that to a child? Anti cafe doesn't even begin to explain how horrible what they actually do is.. They basically sit there and rip at a 7 year old girl.. How pathetic
3. [+57, -6] How pathetic are they in real life that they have to set up an entire anti cafe to hate on a child?

1. [+94, -32] I can see why Park Min Ha would have antis, though... Imagine how hard her father works her for her to have already memorized the Loving U dance ㅋㅋㅋ Her father makes it so obvious that he's using her to make money and that image is being transferred straight over to his daughter. Park Min Ha already seems like she's caught the celebrity disease ㅋㅋㅋ
2. [+51, -2] But it did seem obvious that that any program Park Min Ha starred in, that the producers were trying really hard to make her popular
3. [+53, -8] But Park Min Ha really... isn't innocent..
4. [+43, -2] Our broadcast system is the problem... Japan bans children from filming at night but our 7 year old actress Park Min Ha is on a midnight talk show with the adults like Happy Together and Strong Heart... I get that child actors are used on 19+ movies but they're not on the set the entire time.. unlike variety shows where the kids are exposed to everything the adults are for the entire duration of the filming.
5. [+46 -6] Kids need to have a sense of innocence to them, but Park Min Ha just seems like a sly fox because of the way her parents throw her everywhere out of their greed for cash... She seems so fake.
-

What the actual fuck. She's SEVEN
ReplyDeleteKorea lacks or lacks enforcement of child labour laws. You always hear about young idols missing essentially all of their school, staying past midnight and doing other shit that would never ever pass in any other industry due to regulations. I mean in japan there's limits to how long a kid can film etc. Hallyu is nice and all but exploiting young kids makes you looks like shit
ReplyDeleteHer anti mostly 6-12 years old...
ReplyDeletedon't tell me they are adults o.o""
What the hell with the bottom comments. You can see how a 7 year old can have antis? Yes, she's innocent. She's 7 years old assholes. Blame her parents if you want to blame someone, not her.
ReplyDeleteOMG saying she isn't truly innocent is that her fault...she is only 7, blame everything on the parents for the way she turns out
ReplyDeletejust when i thought nothing else could baffle me..this happens
ReplyDeleteEven if it's to do with her dad, no reason to criticize her. She's 7!! Like she's making her own choices. She probably doesn't even choose what she wants to eat for dinner, much less how her career should go.
ReplyDelete"2. [+79, -3] How could people even think of doing that to a child? Anti
ReplyDeletecafe doesn't even begin to explain how horrible what they actually do
is.. They basically sit there and rip at a 7 year old girl.. How
pathetic"
netizens do that all the time, but it's ok if he/she is not a child anymore?
do you really think 6-12 year olds would be on the internet joining anti-fancafes..
ReplyDeleteoh dam im watching strong heart right now and the lady talked about park min ha on 1000 songs.
ReplyDeletebut wow seriously how would the owner of the anti cafe feel if their future children get hated on.
wtf that's pathetic! Calling a seven year-old a sly fox, ugly, fake? Really?
ReplyDeleteok I'm not familiar with her... but judging from the comments, if anything shouldn't they blame her parents instead of her? smh
that is just pathetic, I never understood people who waste their time hating on someone they will never know but a kid? really? sad individuals jealous of a child's success. "Park Min Ha just seems like a sly fox" this is just wrong, somebody teach them some common decency please.
ReplyDelete"3. [+53, -8] But Park Min Ha really... isn't innocent.."
ReplyDeletewhat the heck is this comment ???
idk who she is but this reminds me of the backlash against ashida mana in japan lately. the blame should be put on her stage parents. a kid should not be in the spotlight so much :/
ReplyDeleteJudging by the comments on the 2nd article I'd say they are adults.
ReplyDelete<3 btw I can never get enough of Won Bin...keep the pics coming NB ;p
ReplyDeleteKorea dont curr as long as they make their money and get their name out there
ReplyDeletedesperate if anything
No one starts out with regulations tho. And businesses never care for regulations that's precisely why you need a strong government to enforce that shit. Back in the Studio days of Hollywood shit was run essentially like korea is right now, it only changed when a labour rights movement started and the government got involved and draft protection laws and regulations. But they do need to get their shit together cause you know a lot of these kids are being horribly exploited.
ReplyDeleteNaver wtf...
ReplyDeletemaybe they should start protecting her by monitoring all the comments left by the netizens
ReplyDeleteSeriously netizens have nothing better to do these days..
ReplyDeleteI guess he/she is one of the regular in the anti cafe?
ReplyDelete3. [+53, -8] But Park Min Ha really... isn't innocent..
ReplyDelete5. [+46 -6] Park Min Ha just seems like a sly fox ... She seems so fake.
wtf!
Yeah, I'd like to know what reasons these antis have (other than her dad banking off of her). But nonetheless, the little girl doesn't deserve the hate.
ReplyDeleteikr? even adult artists have committed suicide thanks to those Antis cafes.
ReplyDeletewhy am i imagining a bunch of 6-year olds on that anti cafe
ReplyDeleteBlame the parents for allowing them to film till late at night. Blame the broadcasting stations for extorting the children. Blame the government for not enforcing child labour laws. But don't blame a 7 year old kid that doesn't even begin to know how the world works. Seriously though, some of the top comments show how immature knetizens are, I could've mistaken them for the members of that anti-cafe
ReplyDeleteIt's fucked up how they treat idols. Especially when you hear about company statements after "scandals" about correcting behavior or putting them in reflection. Makes me wonder what they do to them. They also don't pay them enough for the work they do.
ReplyDeleteIKR, I mean she's six on i-age no? she's like a baby, I don't know.....it's just sick, sick, sick.-
ReplyDeleteWow, what the fuck, knetizens. I don't know anything about this girl, but she's SEVEN. Your average seven-year-old is not capable of being manipulative with malicious intent. Like they are actually physiologically unable to think like that. Spoiled and bratty, maybe, but she's definitely harmless. May as well start an anti-cafe for every whiny toddler out there then.
ReplyDeleteWow this is too much, how can they hate anyone on the age of 7yo? Its too much
ReplyDeleteshe's cute. Get lost, antis.
ReplyDeleteTrue. I forget what the exact regulation was, but in Japan all minors are banned from filming after a certain time and they can only be on a set for a certain amount of hours (in proportion to their age).
ReplyDeleteKorea should think about implementing that kind of restriction, tbh.
This reminds me of the hate clubs that were created for little Japanese actress Mana Ashida. What a lame thing to hate on an innocent child! Jealous bitches...
ReplyDeletei watched the strong heart show where park min ha dance loving u sistar...it was kinda appropriate for that certain age. yet her father looks so proud about & encourage it. seriously if u watch kpop star even jyp & others panel finds awkward to see a primary school dance sexily..if she maintain her character just like her age i dont think anyone would harm her
ReplyDeleteScrutiny/criticism, yes. Hate?? No.
ReplyDeleteHate was probably going too far. I just meant that the hate directed at Park Minha should be directed at the person even the 'hateful' netizens of the second post think is responsible.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh what kind of adult would call a 7-year old a sly fox this is our sad society
ReplyDeleteSeems like there are some adults who are more immature than 7 yr olds
ReplyDeleteMinors should be done filming by 9pm. That's the reason why Kara's Jiyoung left right after the group's performance is Kouhaku a couple years back.
ReplyDeleteWtf? Anti-cafe?!!? O_o
ReplyDelete...I can't even....wow. Do these people in the anti-cafe really have nothing better to do? Her parents and the producers should be blamed for allowing the child to film after midnight, not the 7 year old. People can be so horrible sometimes....
ReplyDeleteare you freaking kidding me
ReplyDeleteWait but she's six... I just cannot fathom how anyone can hate a six year old like this or even comment that she's not that innocent. Like why are we so mean.
ReplyDeletewell, ppl bashed BoA when she debuted, when she was 13 years old, she said she was kinda hurt by it, they were calling her a snake,or something like this, because of her name. so yea. haters leads sad lives.
ReplyDeleteNothing surprises me anymore.
ReplyDeletewow the comments on Naver and Nate are as different as night and day! what the heck is wrong with the pple posting on Naver!???? this is disgusting!
ReplyDeleteYea, blame the 7 year-old kid for your pathetic acts :/
ReplyDeleteIt's hilarious, really lol
Hates seem like dna in every korean....
ReplyDeleteDid they just called a five years old children of fox? o.O
ReplyDeleteyup, it can easily be. specially if they are 10-12. Aren't some of Kpop fans in Korean 13 years old joining fandoms and all.
ReplyDeleter these people serious. did they just say a 5 year old is fake and a fox? what does a 5 year old know. of course at that age children r children meaning their behaviour is childish which means they will cry when u dont get them what they want and throw a tantrum. the person who wrote that comment and the people who liked that comment need to go and check themselves into a mental institution .... ASAP!!!
ReplyDeleteo.o why would you create an anticafe for a child though?
ReplyDeleteI mean, creating anticafes in general is stupid but for a 7year old child? O_O
Pathetic.
i watched show which had the participation of Park Minha several times, to tell the truth, i share the same feeling with some K-netizens that the way she acts is kinda fake. But I don't think it's her fault, her family pushed her into amusement industry before she couldn't know thing enough to make her own decision. I can understand that some people might not like her very much, but a whole anti cafe with swears? That's way too rude :/
ReplyDeleteI feel the same too when i saw her on strong heart..overreacted..but i do agree that the way they swear at her is way too rude
DeleteIts star king actually..my bad
DeleteA 7 years old isn't inocent ?? WTF ?? Seriouly ?
ReplyDeletedoes this person know that strong heart and happy together are not actually filmed at night, right?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know this little actress is on TV shows? So she was the one who did Loving U dance? I knew that I saw her somewhere lol. Anyway it was really innapropriate... whoever asked her to learn a SISTAR dance (seriously?) is stupid... First time I saw her is in Feast of The Gods as the child version of one character, and she did really well. She looked cute and did good for acting. Her parents need to take better care of her, instead of making her learn adult choreographies and let her on night shows, just put her on some shows and let her focus on acting because she's good at this and there's nothing wrong with it.
ReplyDeleteTry watch some variety show with her in it then you will know why they hate on her. Despite that she dont deserved the hate. Shes just a kid..just saying that i understand why she got all the hate
ReplyDelete"3. [+53, -8] But Park Min Ha really... isn't innocent.."
ReplyDelete"5. [+46 -6] Kids need to have a sense of innocence to them, but Park Min Ha just seems like a sly fox because of the way her parents throw her everywhere out of their greed for cash... She seems so fake."
the hell.. how are they still breathing.. she's fu**ing 6 years old.6. fake.. she's a kid what kind of fakeness she is.. anti-cafe.. for SIX YEARS OLD KID.. wow SKorea..god bless you..
me too. There is one episode of strong heart and her introduction for herself is just so narcissist but then again, she is just 7. I find her annoying at times (blames should be on the scriptwriter) but an anti cafe is too much.
ReplyDeleteThere are some sick people in this world. The proof is in this article.
ReplyDeleteShe's seven for god's sake. Seven year olds are suppose to want attention.
ReplyDelete1. [+94, -32] I can see why Park Min Ha would have antis, though...
ReplyDeleteImagine how hard her father works her for her to have already memorized
the Loving U dance ㅋㅋㅋ Her father makes it so obvious that he's using
her to make money and that image is being transferred straight over to
his daughter. Park Min Ha already seems like she's caught the celebrity
disease ㅋㅋㅋ

YES BTW SHES NOT THAT CYTE. SHES CUTE COS SHES A KID. END
My friend's daughter was in Hello Baby. And he complained on how they let them work until night. And the worst thing is for a day, they can film two episodes not thinking of the child. I'm not gonna drop their name but the staff even complained and ask what's the matter....
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be end of mine day, but before finish I am reading this enormous article to increase my experience.
